The California Higher Education Sustainability Conference highlights cutting-edge research, as well as case studies with proven successes in curriculum development, operational programs, and community partnerships. This event is jointly organized by independent/private colleges, California Community Colleges, California State Universities, and the University of California, creating the opportunity for dialogue across institutions. The event will take place from June 23–27, 2013 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Registration required.
The BECC Conference is convened by the Precourt Energy Efficiency Center (PEEC), the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE), and the California Institute for Energy and Environment (CIEE). This year's conference focuses on understanding individual and organizational behavior and decision-making related to energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and sustainability. The event will take place from November 18- 20, 2013. Registration is required.
Hosted by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), this workshop will highlight best practices, innovative partnerships and collaborative successes preparing community college students to build a green and sustainable economy. As part of the 2012 AASHE Conference, this workshop will take place on Sunday, October 14, 2012, 1:00 - 4:30pm.
Hosted by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), the conference offers workshops, field experiences and a research symposium, presenting different perspectives on environmental education. Keynotes include "The Story of Stuff" author Annie Leonard, "Social Marketing to Protect the Environment" author and professor Wesley Schultz, and urban and environmental policy and planning professor Julian Agyeman, who will co-present "Environmental Education for the Future: Integrating Equity, Inclusion and Diversity."
