Webinar: Incorporating Sustainability into the Curriculum
This webinar, hosted by AASHE, is for all educators who are considering incorporating sustainability into their higher education curriculum. Attendees will learn about the history of sustainability pedagogy and gain an understanding of best practices related to incorporating sustainability concepts into undergraduate and graduate level courses at your institution. Speakers include educators from Algonquin College (Canada), Luther College (Iowa), and Northern Arizona University. The webinar will take place on May 28, 2013 from 2:00PM - 3:00PM (EDT). California Higher Education Sustainability Conference
The California Higher Education Sustainability Conference highlights cutting-edge research, as well as case studies with proven successes in curriculum development, operational programs, and community partnerships. This event is jointly organized by independent/private colleges, California Community Colleges, California State Universities, and the University of California, creating the opportunity for dialogue across institutions. The event will take place from June 23–27, 2013 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Registration required.
Community College Sustainability Webinar (9/18)
This month’s community college sustainability webinar will focus on the theme of, “Creating a Sustainable Curriculum: Lessons from the North Carolina Code Green Curriculum Integration Project”. Holly Weir from Davidson County Community College will discuss the recent adoption of the Code Green Project by the North Carolina Community College System that integrates sustainability into course outcomes statewide.
Workshop for Integrating Sustainability in Education (6/4-6/6)
The "Workshop for Integrating Sustainability in Education" is a three-day workshop that will be held June 4-6, 2012 in San Diego, California. The workshop will be facilitated by San Diego State University faculty members Jessica Barlow and Heather Honea, with the aims of guiding academic professionals in the incorporation of sustainability into their curriculum. Lecture topics will include biomimicry, sustainable agriculture, and sustainable communities, and will be accompanied by coinciding field trips to the San Diego Zoo and other San Diego attractions.
AASHE Sustainability Across the Curriculum Leadership Workshop (1/10-1/11)
January 9-10, 2012 AASHE will host a workshop for faculty leaders of all disciplines to aid in developing programs around sustainability on their campuses. The two days of workshops, presentations, and discussion will occur at Emory University in Georgia.
