Presented by Second Nature and Clean Air-Cool Planet, the first session "Introduction to Greenhouse Gas Management and Climate Action Planning for Minority-Serving Institutions" will introduce students, faculty and staff to how to measure and manage campus greenhouse gases in addition to developing a climate action plan. This is a two-day workshop, November 4-5, 2010.

This event is an opportunity for leaders and sustainability teams at higher education institutions to exchange ideas and learn how higher education is leading the way to climate neutrality.

Join Dr. Karl-Henrik Robèrt, founder of The Natural Step, for a special presentation discussing the role of academic institutions, business and commuities in establishing a basis for collective actions and movement towards sustainability. This webinar will explore “best practices” and effective emission reduction policies/efficiency measures that can be employed to calculate and report carbon sequestration of campus trees.

CitiesAlive! 2010 is a three-day celebration of green roofs and walls, and is specifically designed to bring the international community together in an effort to address the issues of green roofs and walls as they relate to environmental, social and economic needs on a local, regional and global level. Some of the topics to be addressed include: Urban food, energy savings, renewables, embodied energy, water-energy dynamics, biofuels, and cost savings.
