The session will begin with an assessment of the theory and practice of current sustainability leadership program (based on Shriberg & MacDonald “Sustainability Leadership Programs: Emerging Goals, Methods & Best Practices” study published in the Journal of Sustainability Education), including program design/methodology, assumptions and principles, and key skills built. Following the program overviews, panelists representing different leadership program models –Portland State University, Duke University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Vermont– will discuss their approach, audience/niche, successes and areas for improvement.
