| Green Building Kresge Fellowships Available | (Boston, MA) Second Nature, a national nonprofit organization advancing sustainability in the higher education sector, is seeking applications for the 2010 Kresge Fellowship Program created to address some of the challenges faced by under-resourced schools to "build green" on their campuses. The Fellowships will provide free registration, accommodations, and travel expenses (up to $2000/fellow) for fellows to attend one national green building-related conference. Facilities directors, campus planners, and vice presidents of finance and business will be eligible for the fellowships through which they will be funded to take part in learning and networking opportunities, such as the 2010 Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Conference and the US Green Building Council's Greenbuild Conference. Fellows will also become members of the Kresge Fellowship Network. Please click here to read the entire press release. | 01/26/2010 |

| Green Building Training Grants are Now Available | Facilitating Green Building at Under-resourced Colleges and Universities Through Technical Assistance Grants for Local Consultants
Second Nature, with funding from The Kresge Foundation, is inviting colleges and universities in states with relatively low numbers of green building projects, to apply for technical assistance grants of up to $2000 each. These grants will fund green building training opportunities for the external building professionals (i.e., construction contractors, architects, designers, engineers) that work with their schools. Minority-serving institutions, community and technical colleges, smaller inner city, rural religiously-affiliated institutions, and public universities in under-resourced states are encouraged to apply. For Grant Guidelines, the Application Form and more detailed information visit the Campus Green Building 101 Technical Assistance Grants Program page. The deadline for applications is February 12, 2010. | 01/06/2010 |

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is offering this discount, with the hope that students will be able to take the benefits of green buildings back to their communities. School Administrators that are interested in this program should send a request with the name of your school and the expected number of students to education@usgbc.org.
